Calvin Harris breaks 1 billion plays on Spotify

Another day, another career-defined moment for the highest paid DJ in the world.

As of writing, Calvin Harris has become the most streamed British solo act in the history of Spotify, tipping the scales at 1 billion plays — a milestone he plans to commemorate on Tuesday, September 9th at 8pm when he will host his own Spotify Playlist Takeover.

According to Mixmag, his songs have been listened to for over 5,000 years of continuous plays and have netted him upwards of £4million.

Harris’s streaming domination will likely continue as “Summer” continues to top the radio charts with his latest original, “Blame,” featuring John Newman destined for widespread mainstream adoption.
