GET READY FOR VODACOM IN THE CITY 2015!

In only a few short weeks the lawns of Emmarentia Dam will be transformed into one of Jozi’s most loved music festivals, Vodacom In The City. Vodacom and Seed Experiences didn’t think one day of Vodacom In The City was enough and so they are bringing the vibe and energy of the festival to a venue near you.

In the lead up to the highly anticipated day-time event on Sunday 4 October, they’ll be hosting eight awesome events aimed at getting lovers of music (and other cool things) together in and around Jozi and Pretoria.

#VITC2015 Night at Bob Rocks

Wednesday 23 September

Bob’s Bar, Greenside

Bringing the energy and vibe of VITC to a bar near you! From 20:00 Greenside’s popular Bob’s Bar will kick off with decks spinning music from our VITC acts, ticket giveaways and prizes all night long! This free event is open to ticketholders and non-ticketholders.

Puma Fishtail Heritage Ride

Thursday 24 September

Great Dane, Braamfontein

2pm-5pm

Puma are bringing their unique Fishtail Ride experience to Jozi for the second time. The first 20 riders get to use an exclusive Fishtail bicycle, while additional bikes can be rented at R50 a bike and you are free to bring your own bike. See the city from a unique angle, as you tour inner Johannesburg, Newtown and Braamfontein on this cultural experience. End off this energetic day with a drink at Great Dane Bar. This event is only open to VITC ticket holders and you must register to secure your spot (only 100 spots available)

Pirate Boat Takeover

Zoo Lake

Saturday 26 September

12pm-6pm

It’s what childhood dreams are made of! We’ve hired out ALL of the boats at Zoo Lake for an awesome day on the dam. Get dressed up, bring your water guns and go head-to-head with other boats as you try to take them over. Come prepared to get wet and bring your sunscreen, or just chill on the dam banks while you watch all the action. Prizes will be awarded for best-dressed and best sieges! Open to VITC ticketholders and registration is a must to secure one of the 100 spots available.

City-to-City Bus with Lazola Gola

Rosebank, Joburg to Lucky Rodrigo, Pretoria (return trip)

11am-3pm

What better way to get to the capital than on our very own City-to-City Bus with comedian Lazola Gola. Hop on at Rosebank Gautrain Station and hop off at Lucky Rodrigo for a Vinyl Fair! This is open only to VITC ticketholders and registration is a must to secure your spot (only 50 spots available).

Best known for their unbelievable steaks, sticky wings and delicious ribs Lucky Rodrigo will play host to our Vinyl Fair. Complete with vinyl DJ’s spinning the decks, a wide variety of vinyls on sale and a delicious braai, join us for this free event open to ticketholders and non-ticketholders.

We always look for unique ways to incorporate art into #VITC2015 and this year is no different. Through our various Instagram campaigns including #MyVITCStyle, #VITCSunriseInstaWalk and #MyVITCCity we will be exhibiting your photos at Braamfontein’s popular cultural activation First Thursdays. Prizes will be awarded on the night for outstanding pictures. This is a public event and photos will be displayed on the wall outside Great Dane.

With our #VITC2015 Instagram Exhibition running outside and First Thursdays throughout the area, Great Dane will create an awesome night of back-to-back DJ’s, ticket and prize giveaways. This is the only way to get into the mood for Vodacom In The City before the main event on 4 October. Free entrance for VITC ticketholders and R30 for non-ticket holders.
